I am blessed to work and volunteer in the two passions in my life; hospice care and animal rescue. I was raised by parents who taught us to serve and give back and am happy that I can do that by putting my skills and energy to good use in rescuing dogs.My Mastiff addiction began several years ago when I fostered and adopted my first Mastiff, Max, from another rescue. I fell in love with the breed and knew I wanted to help. I soon found GPMR, which was local and willing to put me to work right away! I started volunteering with GPMR in 2009, became the Foster Coordinator shortly thereafter and eventually Vice President for the board in 2013. I have also fostered for GPMR and adopted a male and female from the organization.
My husband and I had a baby girl in 2015 and I've already been taking her to events with me. She just smiles contently when one of those big faces comes up to her. We are hopeful that she will carry on the passion to rescue!
